Buff Brides DVD
So, I got a bit carried away last week on Amazon. I thought this DVD sounded like a fun way to stay fit, but it was really really really bad. The “toss the bouquet” arm moves? The “wave to your husband” stretches? Seriously.

Flower tags

The new Veseys bulb catalog came in the mail this week. However, I don’t really have a yard or a need for bulbs. It was too pretty to throw out, so I pulled out the jumbo tag punch. First, I affixed the photos I liked to some cardstock with glue. After that I punched the tag and added some ribbon. Thank you Veseys!
Update: January 28 – I made a lot more.

Chamomile Cupcakes
I found this interesting recipe over at Vanilla Garlic.
Chamomile Cupcakes
Makes 12 cupcakes / 350 oven
What You’ll Need…
1/2 cup (1 stick) of unsalted butter at room temperature
1 cup of sugar
4 eggs, room temperature
3 bags of chamomile tea
1 & 1/8 cups of self-rising flour
3/4 cup of milk
What You’ll Do…
1) Preheat the over to 350 degrees. Line a 12 slot cupcake tin with cupcake papers or lightly grease the slots.
2) Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating 30 seconds after each egg. Mix in the contents of the teabags.
3) Mix in the flour and milk a little at a time, alternating between dry and wet ingredients, ending with the dry.
4) Scoop into other cupcake papers. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean. If your oven is sketchy, rotate the pan after the first 15 minutes.

Love muffin

Martha’s vanilla cupcake recipe is foolproof. Need more evidence? Check out my latest creation, the “love muffin”. Using a mini heart cake pan, this little cake baked up nicely. Old school sprinkles were dusted on using a heart-shaped cookie cutter for the pattern. Success!

Quest for best moisturizer

Over at Not Martha, she was writing about how much she was looking forward to her visit to Canada to scoop up this Dove “Deep Moisture” cream. Wow. An American coveting a beauty product available in Canada but not the US? It.must.be.good. So, I bought it at the grocery store. It’s pretty good – light scent, goopy but absorbs quickly. Not bad.
Problem solved? Still no. I walk to and from work all winter and I sit in a dry office tower. My skin pretty much hates me. Sadly, it can’t be bribed with cupcakes either.

Shark cupcakes

Another cupcake idea – the frosting went a bit runny, but the cake part turned out perfectly! I wasn’t sure how the graham cracker dust “beach” would taste, but it was delicious.
Most of the times I’ve made cupcakes they *never* raise high enough. Perhaps I’ve never filled the cup full enough. Perhaps. Today, they went beyond raising. Today the cupcakes were trying to raise the roof. They looked like cupcake mountains. Oh well – it’s better than burnt.
